Wrath of Khan's title challenge

Amir Khan is looking for a world title fight before the end of the year, reports the BBC. Frank Warren spoke after his fifth round technical knock-out triumph against ring legend Marco Antonio Barrera and talked up the lightweight's chances of a challenge to WBO champion Juan Manuel Marquez.

'Amir has just beaten the WBO number one, so he's entitled to take that spot over from Berrera. 'He'll fight again in June and hopefully as a team we can progress and get him a world title. I would like to see by the end of the year that he has got a belt around his waist.'

Meanwhile Khan praised his new trainer Freddie Roach, who he believes is developing him into a true contender.

'Freddie is the man who can take me all the way,' he said of the man who also trains Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao. 'He makes champions and hopefully I'm his next.'
