Wladimir Klitschko mocks David Haye

Wladimir Klitschko has fired yet another shot in the long-running feud between him and David Haye, mocking him for taking tough but never getting in the ring him, and instead taking up the challenge against his ‘London buddy’ Audley Harrison.

Klitschko was speaking at a press conference in London this morning ahead of his clash with north Londoner Dereck Chisora in Mannheim in Germany on 11 December. He also praised Chisora for his confidence and determination in taking him on for his IBF and WBO heavyweight belts, another sly dig at the apparently cowardly Haye.

‘Dereck has impressed me with his latest win, a spectacular knockout of Sam Sexton,’ said Klitschko. ‘I think boxing fans around the world would love to see Dereck fight me. I respect Dereck that he took the chance without considering it too long. He heard about it and took it.

‘I know another man (Haye) that is fighting next month with his London buddy Audley Harrison. Haye was talking a lot but never coming into the ring.

‘Dereck is young and has only had 14 fights, but that doesn't say a lot. The fact he's confident says a lot, his will says a lot. I see myself in Dereck in some ways. He deserves his chance. He is confident and determined and I'm looking forward to the challenge.’
