Who will be next Premiership manager to go?
First Mourinho left after clashes with Chelsea’s owner. Then Martin Jol ran out of results at Tottenham and resigned. Next Sammy Lee got the bullet at Bolton… and now Billy Davies has been sacked by Derby County.
Who will be next to get nudged off the management merry-go-round? Here are our top three predictions:
1. Gareth Southgate: Middlesborough haven’t won in ten games, and they can’t buy a goal just now. Southgate won’t pick Mendieta, he’s playing with children and even the coach driver’s injured.
2. Sam Allardyce: Newcastle are a big club with big ambitions, weary from years of under-achievement. The fans dislike Sam’s refusal to pick Newcastle’s unofficial player of the season Obafemi Martins, his inability to get the best out of Alan Smith or James Milner, his insistence on picking a midfield but refusing to use it with his long-ball aerial tactics. And losing 3-0 at home to Liverpool.
3. Roy Keane: everyone respects/is terrified of him, but Saturday’s 7-1 hammering at the hands of Everton has dropped Sunderland into the relegation zone. Only thing is: if he does have to go, who’s going to tell him?
Who do you think is next in line for the chop?
