Wenger hopes Arsenal can bounce back against Porto
Arsenal take on Porto tonight in the Champions League and Arsene Wenger is hoping that his team can bounce back from Saturday’s shock 2-1 defeat to Hull at the Emirates.
The Frenchman doesn’t take defeat well and has accused some the younger players in the Arsenal squad of being too complacent: "We are solid, more solid than ever when we are completely switched on, but at the moment I am not sure we can focus all the time in every single game, especially when we think the game will be easy."
But Wenger wants his players to learn from the Hull game and get better: "We won convincingly at Blackburn and Bolton and that is more down to mental preparation. When you are young you think things are going to be easy. When you have a bang on the head like this you have to understand the need to be consistent. It was a big bang."
While Fabregas & Co. will be looking to produce a convincing performance tonight, it’s paramount that they pick up the three points on offer.
