We must improve

Didier Drogba has said that Chelsea’s current poor form hasn’t got anything to with the recent behind the scenes shenanigans that saw Ray Wilkins sacked and speculation about Carlo Ancelotti’s future.

The Blues won 2-1 last night against MSK Zilina, which guaranteed that they will qualify from their Champions League group in first place, and Drogba insists that it’s down to the players to make sure that their form picks up, even if they are missing key players.

‘Of course we miss Ray but the players are the same,' said Drogba. 'If we lose, it is not because Ray has gone, it is down to the players. The manager made it clear he is here and we have to focus on the games.

‘We have to try to resolve our problems because we are not paying well. We don't speak about this (speculation over Ancelotti's future). We stayed focused on the game. We lost against Birmingham and we wanted to go back to winning ways.’
