Vettel wins British grand prix for Red Bull

Sebastian Vettel won the British grand prix in Silverstone this afternoon with Mark Webber finishing in second place to secure a one-two for the Red Bull team. Vettel started on pole position and led the race from start to finish in an impressive performance.

World championship leader and home town favourite Jenson Button finished in sixth place but is still 23-points ahead of his nearest rival, Brawn GP team-mate Rubens Barricchello, who secured third place to move onto 41 points.

Vettel's second grand prix win means that he is now third in the Formula 1 driver's championship just 2 points behind Barricchello. Despite today's result Button still looks favourite to win the world championship, but he will hope to avoid anymore slip ups.

Lewis Hamilton endured another frustrating race. The McClaren driver started back in 19th place on the grid and notwithstanding his best efforts he finished well off the pace in 16th position.
