United march towards the title thanks to Tevez goal

Manchester United continued their march towards the Premiership title with a 1-1 draw at Blackburn thanks to a goal from Tevez three minutes from the end. Blackburn keeper Brad Friedal was the man of the match pulling off a string of top class saves which kept United at bay until Tevez's late equalizer.

The weekend's Premiership action also saw derby games in Birmingham and the North East. Aston Villa thumped relegation battlers Birmingham City 5-1, while Kevin Keegan's Newcastle beat Roy Keane's Sunderland 2-0 thanks to a Michael Owen double.

Bottom club and Premier League whipping boys Derby managed to score only their seventh away goal of the season but were beaten 2-1 by a lacklustre West Ham.
