Uefa hand Drogba a six match ban

Uefa have handed Didier Droga a six match European ban, although two of the games are suspended, following his widely published outburst in the aftermath of Chelsea's Champions League semi-final defeat at the hands of Barcelona.

The Ivory Coast striker was seen confronting the Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovrebo, who turned away four penalty appeals by the Blues, before screaming "it's a f*cking disgrace" in front of TV cameras.

Blues defender Jose Bosingwa also received a four-game ban in Europe after branding Ovrebo a "thief" following Chelsea's exit from the Champions League. Chelsea were fined £85,000 (€100,000) for "the improper conduct of their players and the throwing of missiles by their supporters".

The London club has three days to appeal the verdict.
