On top of this, UEFA has started disciplinary proceedings against the club for the conduct of the players and the fans, who threw missiles. Chelsea have to respond by 29 May and the case will be dealt with on 17 June.

Drogbais being disciplined for his abuse of Ovrebo on the pitch and had to be restrained as he walked down the tunnel, while Bosingwa is being reprimanded for what he said on Portuguese TV.

'I don't know if he's a referee or a thief,' said Bosingwa to TV station RTP after the game. 'I don't have any words to describe that man that was on the pitch.'
