Who has been the most effective player in the Premier League so far this season? Wayne Rooney? Steven Gerrard? Frank Lamps? No it's Rory Delap.
The Stoke City midfielder has already set up seven goals with his stupidly long throw-ins. Delap himself has described his 35 metre plus scud missile style long throws as "undefendable" as Aston Villa and Arsenal can both confirm.
It's definitely not a tactic for the beautiful game's purists, but there is something heart-warming about a team winning matches with the footballing equivalent of the bludgeon. While Delap's throw-ins are impressive, he's still a long way off equalling Davey Challinor's 48 metre record.
