Liverpool striker Fernando Torres may be out until the New Year due to his persistent hamstring problem. The news puts a serious dent in Liverpool's Premier League title hopes.
The Spanish striker saw a specialist earlier this week and it looks as if the £21m signing will be out for at least the next five league games. Torres has already missed eight games this season and the club could do with some of the 33 goals he scored last season.
The loss of the 24-year-old will be a big blow to Reds' boss Rafa Benitez who has watched his team fail to find the back of the net in the last two matches with summer signing Robbie Keane failing to live up to his £20.3m price tag.
