Golf's most famous player Tiger Woods was involved in a car crash near his home in Windermere, Florida late last night. Despite earlier reports that Woods had been seriously injured in the accident it has since emerged that the golfer walked away with just cuts and bruises.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the golfer will face charges after crashing his Cadillac SUV into a fire hydrant and a tree but made it clear that the accident was not 'alcohol related'. Woods was taken to the Health Central Hospital, Ocoee but was discharged some hours later.
According to a number of reports last night Woods was freed from his car by his wife Elin Nordegren with the aid of a golf club. The player's agent, Mark Steinberg, has confirmed that his client was not seriously hurt in the accident: 'Tiger Woods was in a minor car accident outside his home last night. He was admitted, treated and released today in good condition.'
