Tiger wanted 'change'

Tiger Woods has spoken out about sacking his former caddie Steve Williams, after Williams publically blasted the former world number one for letting him go, and for having 'wasted two years' while he deal with his marital problems.

Woods is set to make his return to the golf course at the Firesone Country Club in Ohio for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, and he will have childhood friend Bryon Bell holding his clubs for him, a man who also caddied for way back in 1999 at the Buick Invitational. In any case Williams won't be coming back.

'I felt it was time for a change,' said Woods. 'He is a hell of a guy and has helped my career but I think I've helped his as well... Stevie and I have had an amazing run - Stevie's an amazing caddie.

'We had a nice conversation. It was a tough conversation, but we said what we needed to face-to-face and man-to-man.'
