The latest US Open tennis results

The US Open in flushing meadows has lived up to all expectations with some cracking tennis on display in both the women's and men's draw of the competition. With the tournament just surpassing the third round stage, it really is entering the business stage where there is no room for less than 100% with competitors all looking to progress further into the quarter finals.

Andy Murray overcame a scare to secure his place in the third round after recovering from a two set deficit against Robin Haase to eventually win over five sets. The Brit struggled to find any sort of form in the early stages but entering the third set Murray certainly turned it on and won the following three sets comfortably to set up a third round tie against number 25 seed Feliciano Lopez.

Novak Djokovic kept up his fine form with a straight sets win against Nikolai Davydenko and will take on 22nd seed Alexandre Dolgopolov from Ukraine in the the next round. Djokovic has certainly been the man of 2011 in the tennis world and looks on track to win a third major of the year after looking in formidable form so far this year. One of his competitors Roger Federer also progresses through to the next stage after winning 3-1 against Marin Cilic to ensure he stays on track for a potential final spot in a few weeks.

In the women's half of the draw, number 1 seed Caroline Wozniacki made easy work of American Vania King with a straight set victory to keep her on track of winning at Flushing Meadows. Meanwhile, Serena Williams also looks in top form with a straight set victory, although being number 28 seed for the tournament Serena is turning in performances that will inevitably see her progress far further than her seeding suggests.

With the fourth round expected to be well underway in the next few days, it will be intriguing to watch all the action as the tournament really hots up and enters the business end. Make sure you follow all the action and don't miss out on the amazing quality on display. The US Open tennis results have largely gone as expected so far, but there will inevitably be a shock or two in the next few stages so keep your eyes peeled, you won't want to miss it!
