The latest British boxing news

With Amir Khan being in imperious form in recent fights, he has claimed that he is now to take on the pound for pound greatest fighter in the world, Floyd the money maker Mayweather. No one can doubt Khan's ability which has seen him rise through the ranks to arguably being the top British fighter at the moment, but taking on Mayweather is a fight that no one is yet to succeed in.

Khan unified the world titles in July after defeating Zab Judah but has now stated that he feels ready to go straight into the deep end taking on arguably one of the greatest boxers to ever grace the ring.

Meanwhile elsewhere, George Groves and James Degale are now working under the same promote, but Warren has quashed speculation that it will prove problematic for the two enemies. George Groves recently defeated arch enemy Degale and it will inevitably be fascinating to see whether the two can put there past differences aside.

Another bright prospect constantly in the british boxing news is Nathan Cleverley and he is set to defend is WBO light-heavyweight title against Tony Bellew on October 15th. The Welsh fighter was originally supposed to take on Bellew but the fighter failed to meet weight requirement and had to pull out as a result. Cleverley will have his fingers crossed that Bellew makes the weight this time around so he can prove to his supporters and critics alike, that he can successfully maintain his light-heavyweight belt.
