The Future is 3D

Love 3D or think it’s a gimmick, the BBC has sat back when it comes to the new so-called 'game changer', but as of today (8 June) that has changed.

BSkyB were the first corp. In the UK to capitalise on the recent 3D boom when their broadcast of Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United in January last year, and have since shown more than 20 Premiership matches in the format. Now the BBC want a piece of the action by confirming they will be showing this year’s Wimbledon tennis finals (mens & womens) in the third dimension.

The 3D finals will be available on the BBC HD channel and only viewable for those with an appropriate set-top box. Oh, and a 3D compatible telly and those silly glasses. It’ll be just like being there, sort of.
