The latest tennis news from Cincinnati

Andy Murray saw off USA star Mardy Fish to secure his place in the final of the Cincinnati tournament. Murray overcame a tricky opponent in Fish who was previously in a rich vein of form after defeating Rafael Nadal in the quarter final stage. But Murray seems to have found some form that could prove pivotal to his chances in the US Open next week and won comfortably in straight sets over the competitor that is Fish.

Other tennis news see's Djokovic and Tomas Berdych set to play out the second semi final with the winner due to play Andy Murray in the final. World number one Djokovic will face stiff competition from Berdych whose dynamic play can never be underestimated. With Murray playing some great tennis, there is no reason why he can't get his hands on some silverware before he hopes to become victor again at Flushing Meadows which commences next week.

In the Women's half of the draw, Maria Sharapova and Zvonareva will play out the first semi-final with the winner set to take on either Jelena Jankovic or Petkovic. Today has also seen Kim Clijsters regretfully have to pull out of the US Open due to a stomach injury she has suffered. Despite losing one of the Women's finest players, the quality will remain high and the other Women may well take confidence out of knowing one of the better players will not be troubling them this time around.

Make sure you tune into the US Open next week which see's the grand slam season come to a close and with the best players all on display, there is sure to be some exciting and world-class tennis on show.
