The Meadows City Tennis Club (www.meadowstennis.co.uk) plays on the public courts on the Meadows. It's an LTA-affiliated club, staging social and competitive matches, entering men's and ladies' doubles teams in East of Scotland doubles leagues. Try out the club before joining by coming along to one of their social tennis sessions.

The Colinton Lawn Tennis Club (www.colintonltc.org.uk) has 6 all weather synthetic grass courts, a clubhouse and a practice wall. Membership fees range from £179 for seniors to £46 for juniors (under 18s). It also organises a draw for Wimbledon tickets for members.

The Falcon Bowling and Tennis Club (http://falcon-club.co.uk) is a small club in a beautiful location, with 3 courts. It offers professional tennis coaching in autumn and spring, as well as a summer-school. They do not enter leagues, but organise their own club competitions. Membership is £84 or £44 for juniors.

The Merchiston Tennis Club has 3 all-weather artificial grass courts and is keen to attract new members especially families with children, and to build up its coaching facilities. There is a busy clubhouse with bar, which is open all year round.
