Tendulkar guides India to victory over England
Sachin Tendulkar scored a brilliant century to help India secure a famous victory over England in the first Test in Chennai. England had posted a total of 387 and looked set for victory until the magician from Mumbai produced a breathtaking display.
England skipper Kevin Pietersen admitted that the defeat was difficult to stomach after he watched India record the fourth highest run chase in the history of Test cricket to snatch victory away from hi side.
Tendulkar, who scored his 41rst Test century finishing with an unbeaten 163, told reporters that "the gameplan was to wait for opportunities to score runs because you can't afford to get bogged down."
