Fancy a table tennis game?

Rockstar Games are responsible for bringing us epic titles like GTA, the Red Dead series, Manhunt, L.A Noire and many more. Most of their releases are controversial games aimed at more mature gamers. However in a list of Rockstar Games, one always sticks out. They released a table tennis game for the Xbox 360 and Wii called Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis.

Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis (RGPTT) was released in 2006 for the Xbox 360 and in 2007 for the Wii. It is the only game that they have ever released to get an E and 3+ rating. It was the first game to use the R.A.G.E engine, which they later used for GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption.

RGPTT was great for pick-up playing, and it was addictive and plenty of fun, but it lacked many things that you could find in other titles, like creating a player and career mode. The game only really had exhibition games and tournaments options. A career mode would have added to RGPTT in a big way, but because it was released at a budget price (considerably lower than other new games released at the same time), perhaps we're expecting too much.

For a change, this Rockstar game was greeted with pretty good reviews rather than controversy. Reviews were typically around 8/10 or 80%. Although RGPTT was uncharacteristic of Rockstar Games, they did do a good job of creating a cheap pick up and play game. Our only complaint is that it lacks depth.
