Sven Goran Eriksson favourite for Fulham job

Sven Goran Eriksson is favourite to takeover as Fulham manager as fellow candidates Ottmar Hitzfeld and Bob Bradley appear to be unavailable.

Fulham hope to have Roy Hodgson's replacement in place by the weekend as they get ready for the coming Premier League season.

The London club were reported to be sniffing around Switzerland manager Hitzfeld, who has previously managed Bayern Munich, and have also been linked to USA boss Bob Bradley.

However, Eriksson is reported to be the favourite candidate of Fulham chief executive Alistair Macintosh who worked with the former England manager at Manchester City.

Fulham chairman Mohamed Al Fayed is alleged to be unconvinced about Eriksson’s credentials as well as the Swede’s wage demands. But if a financial agreement can be agreed Eriksson could be named manager in time to take charge of Fulham’s pre-season tour to Sweden which starts on Monday.
