Sunderland beat Hull 4-1 this afternoon to record their second win on the trot since Roy Keane stepped down as manager. The teams were tied 1-1 at the break after Steed Malbranque opened the scoring for the Black Cats and Nicky Narmby equalised for Hull.
But Sunderland scored three goals in the final 13 minutes to snatch the points and move up into 12th place in the Premier League. Kamil Zayatte scored an own goal before the Black Cats' front two Kenwyne Jones and Djibril Cisse both got on the score sheet to put the result beyond doubt.
Things got worse for Hull before the end when Sam Ricketts was sent off for his second bookable offence. Both Jones and Cisse have called for caretaker manager Ricky Sbragia to be handed the Sunderland manager's job full-time and following the last two results it would be hard to disagree with them.
