Chelsea bounced back from their disappointing midweek draw in the Champions League and concern over injuries to key players with a stunning 2-0 over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
Big Phil’s side dominated the match from the first whistle showing sublime movement and pace that Villa had no answers for.
Although they were missing Carvalho and Deco through injury, as well as long term casualties Essien and Drogba, Chelsea looked a class apart. Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic made his Chelsea debut and slotted in to the team with ease illustrating the club's strength in depth.
With Manchester United and Liverpool breathing down their necks Chelsea know that this season’s title race is going to be a dogfight, but if they can continues to produce performances like yesterday the Blues have to be favourites.
