Stoke City beat Hull 2-1

Liam Lawrence made sure that Stoke City will be playing Premier League football next year with a brilliant goal to give his team a 2-1 win over relegation battlers Hull City.

The Potters took the lead four minutes before half time through Ricardo Fuller before Lawrence added a second 18 minutes from time with a 25-yard screamer. Andy Dawson scored a late consolation goal for Hull late on, but Phil Brown's side appear to be in free-fall following a great start to the season.

West Brom beat Wigan 3-1 at the Hawthorns to throw the relegation battle wide open with three teams now sitting on 31 points while Hull are lying just three points above Newcastle, Boro and the resurgent Baggies.
