Spurs sign Corluka and make new bid for David Villa
Tottenham are set to sign Croatian international Vedran Corluka from Manchester City in a deal worth £7m. The right-back, who can also play at centre-back and in midfield, will put pen to paper on a four-year contract as Spurs look to strengthen their defence.
The north London club are also reported to have made a new bid for Valencia striker David Villa. The Spanish international had looked set to join either Barcelona or Real Madrid, but neither club has made an offer for the 26-year-old hitman.
Andrei Arshavin is also said to have agreed personal terms with Spurs, but the Carling Cup champions aren't willing to meet Zenit St Petersburg's asking price of £24m for the Russian international. Either way, the Tottenham eleven that takes to the field against Middlesbrough in just over a week's time will have the stamp of Juande Ramos all over it.
