South Africa beat New Zealand 31-19

South Africa beat New Zealand 31-19 in their Tri-Nations clash this morning at King's Park. Flyhalf Morne Steyn was the hero for the Springboks on the day scoring all of his team's points including eight penalties, a conversion and a try to become the highest scorer in a single Tri-Nations game.

The result was the All Blacks' second successive defeat in South Africa following last Saturday's 28-19 victory for the home side in Bloemfontein. The World Champions led 22-13 at half time thanks to Steyn's heroics.

New Zealand responded through a try from second row Isaac Ross in the first half while Stephen Donald and Luke McAlister scored the All Blacks' remaining 14 points with the boot.
