So close yet so far, again

Andy Murray is unquestionably one of the nearly best tennis players playing tennis at the moment. So it's an absolute shame that possibly THE best tennis players of all time - Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, are playing in the same era.

The Scot/Brit (depending on which newspaper you read) has already successfully made two Grand Slam finals - the Australian Open and US Open, sadly coming up short on both occasions. He has also had a series of respectable minor slams, and at the weekend he nearly bagged another one.

Murray was the favourite to win the Los Angeles Farmers Classic but lost out in the final to American and world number 20 Sam Querrey 5-7 7-6 (7-2) 6-3. In reference to changing his coach Mile Maclagan recently, Murray said: ‘if you take the circumstances into consideration I have to be happy with getting to the final. I had a good week, I enjoyed it. Each match I felt better physically. I played reasonably well, better than the other matches.’

Andy Murray’s next major target is the US Open at the end of August.
