Smashed by the Fed

Roger Federer has cruised through to the final of Wimbledon for the seventh year in a row after crushing Tommy Haas in straight sets 7-6, 7-5, 6-3.

The Swiss disposed of his German opponent in just over two hours, and has now not dropped a set in any of his Wimbledon semi-finals. His performance makes him a clear favourite in Sunday's final, where he will face the winner of this afternoon's semi-final between Andy Murray and Andy Roddick.

'I'm very happy with that performance,' said Federer after the match. 'Tommy was playing very well and I'm so happy I came through. Federer made it plain that he's not worried about either opponent.

'I've had some great matches with Roddick in the past and I have a great record against him, and against Murray, who has proved that he's a contender for Grand Slams. But either opponent would be difficult. This is an opportunity to get in the history books.'
