Simon Shaw to start second Test for Lions

Ian McGeechan has made five changes to the British and Irish Lions team for Saturday's second Test against South Africa in Pretoria.

Rob Kearney starts at full-back in place of the injured Lee Byrne, Luke Fitzgerlad replaces Ugo Monye on the wing, hooker Matthew Rees and prop Adam Jones will start in an all Welsh front row while Simon Shaw starts his first Test for the Lions in his third tour.

The England second row toured with the Lions back in 1997 and was widely expected to make the Test team but lost out to Ireland's Jeremy Davidson. South Africa blew the Lions away last week in both the scrum and at the breakdown but the inclusion of Shaw and Jones should mean that the tourists will be on level terms with their opponents in all departments.

The Test line-up features seven Irishmen, six Welsh and two English players with Scotland's Ross Ford named amongst the replacements.
