Sam Allardyce named new Blackburn manager
Blackburn Rovers wasted little time in finding a successor to Paul Ince when they announced that Sam Allardyce would be taking over as manager of the Premier League side.
The former Bolton and Newcastle manager will give his first press conference as Blackburn manager tomorrow after being handed a three-year contract. Former boss Graeme Souness had been favourite to fill the vacancy at struggling Rovers, but the Scot ruled himself out of the running this morning.
Allardyce's first match in charge will be on Saturday against Stoke City at Ewood Park. With Rovers currently second from bottom without a win in eleven games Big Sam will be hoping that he can provide some direction to a rudderless team.
