England's rugby world cup fixtures 2011

Martin Johnson will be hoping his side can replicate the exploits the England side achieved under his captaincy in 2003 when they succeeded in winning the Rugby world cup in Australia. England's rugby world cup fixtures for the 2011 competition will be far from easy but Johnson is confident his side can cause a few upsets in the Oceania.

England's rugby world cup fixtures for 2011 begins on the 10th of September where they will play a strong Argentina side who will undoubtedly prove stiff competition for Johnson's men. The game will be played in Dunedin and is due to kick off at 20:30, make sure you tune in and cheer on England in their opening game! The side then go without match action for a week before taking on underdogs Georgia at the same venue (Dunedin) where England will be hoping to all but secure their qualification onto the knockout stage of the competition. The final group game will be played on the 1st of October in Auckland against home nations rivals Scotland who will be hoping to put a dent in England's world cup campaign.

England are rank outsiders in the competition going to New Zealand ranked 5th in the world behind the likes of France, South Africa, Australia and hosts New Zealand. However, England have proved in previous world cups that they favour the underdog role which was evident in the last world cup where despite all odds, England reached the final against South Africa in France. Martin Johnson will be asking for more of the same desire and determination from his players in the hope they can go one step further from 2007 and win the ultimate prize in rugby, the rugby world cup
