Also in Pool A, France meet Japan at the North Harbour Stadium in Auckland on September 10th. Scotland's first match in Pool B is against Romania at the Rugby Park Stadium in Invercargill on September 10th. Defending champions South Africa meet Wales in a mouthwatering Pool D fixture on September 11th at Wellington Regional Stadium. 2007 runners up England open their campaign in Pool B against Argentina at the Otago Stadium in Dunedin on September 10 and Ireland's opening match in Pool C against the USA on September 11 takes place at Stadium Taranaki in New Plymouth. Australia meet Italy in the first game of Pool C at the North Harbour Stadium in Auckland on September 11th.

Rugby World Cup 2011 dates: quarter finals

The knock out stages begin on October 8th with the winner of Pool C versus the runner up in Pool D at the Wellington Regional Stadium. Also on October 8th, the winner of Pool B goes head to head with the runner up in Pool A at Eden park in Auckland. On October 9th the winner of Pool D faces the runner up in Pool C in Wellington while the winner of Pool A takes on the runner up in Pool B at Eden Park.

The winners of the first two quarter finals meet in first semi final on October 15th at Eden Park. The second semi-final takes place on October 16th in the same venue.
