The Aviva Rugby Premiership is edging closer and teams have already begun to strengthen their sides in anticipation of those opening games everyone is waiting for.
One team who has wasted no time in signing new players is London Wasps who have recently secured the signings of Matt Everard and James Harris from Leicester and Blackheath respectively. Strengthening in the forward department was made priority by Wasps after previously receiving disheartening news that Tom Rees' knee injury would see him out for at least 6 months. After finishing in a less than satisfactory 9th position last season, the London supporters will hope the addition of Harris and Everard will give the side a renewed impetus to press on in the 2011/2012 season.
Meanwhile, Sale Sharks have been doing some transfer business of their own and have secured the services of Samoan international centre Johnny Leota. The Samoan is currently of course away on international duty in the World Cup and will therefore miss the first few games of the Sharks Premiership season. Leota's team-mate and Samoan flanker Tu'ifua has signed for Newcastle falcons after attracting much interest from a whole host of premiership teams who attempted to lure him to their club. Tu'ifua eventually chose the Falcons and remarkably became the Falcons 14th signing of the summer.
With a vast amount of signings already being made by Premiership sides, you can certainly expect to see your club to make some late signings before the season begins to ensure that the teams are as strong as they can possibly be ahead of the 2011/2012 season.
