Roy Hodgson takes over at Liverpool

Roy Hodgson has become Liverpool’s new manager after signing a three-year contract with the Merseyside giants.. He will start work on the club on Thursday, after which he will be officially unveiled to the media and fans.

The move will be a kick in the teeth for Fulham fans, who had come to regard him as a legend for taking them to their very first European final and establishing them as a true Premier League side ‘The club would like to wish Roy the very best for the future and thanks him for all that was achieved during his tenure,’ said Fulham in a statement.

‘This is the biggest job in club football and I'm honoured to be taking on Britain's most successful football club,’ said Hodgson, who will surely be under no illusions as to the task that lays ahead of him at Anfield. The club are heavily in debt and are coming off their most disappointing season since the early 90s, and with little chance of a big transfer kitty coming his way, he will have to deal with high expectations and a lot of players he won’t have any use for. Good luck, Woy.
