Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to return to the Manchester United line-up earlier than expected after missing the start of the season through injury. According to the club's official website, the Portuguese winger could make his comeback in Wednesday's Champions League game with Villarreal.
Last season's Golden Boot winner was expected to be out until October following an operation on his right ankle back in July. But United boss Alex Ferguson told www.manutd.com that "Ronaldo is training now, he's with the first team. He's come on leaps and bounds and I may take him with us tomorrow, who knows?"
It remains to be seen how United fans will treat the Portugal international after his failed attempt to bag himself a move to Real Madrid in the summer. C-Ron, however, is sure that they'll still think he's great. "I’m already in the history of the club. When I play the fans will love me again," he told reporters. Modest as always.
