Ronaldinho signs for AC Milan

Ronaldinho is set to sign for AC Milan today after the Italian club brokered a deal with Barcelona to sign the 28-year-old Brazilian striker. The former world player of the year will put pen to paper on a four year deal which will see him joinhis compatriots Kaka and Pato in Milan's attack.

The most intriguing element of the Ronaldinho sale is how badly Barcelona have handled the deal. Milan will pay €21m (£16.7m) for the former world player of the year, which is £9m less than Manchester City's bid and almost a third of the €60m that the Italian club offered for the same player last year.

But it seems that Barcelona were determined to offload the Brazilian striker who less than two years ago was central to the Catalan club's Champions League win. Dressing room conflict with his teammates is believed to have been Barcelona's primary motivation for letting Ronaldinho sign for Milan.
