Robinson set to leave Spurs for Aston Villa
Erstwhile England No1, Paul Robinson, is set to hold talks with Martin O'Neill over a possible move to Aston Villa according to reports in The Daily Mail. The former Leeds goalkeeper has fallen out of favour at Spurs since Juande Romos took over at the north London club.
Spurs look set to complete the signing Brazilian netminder Heurelho Gomes from PSV Eindhoven in the next few days sounding the death knell for Robinson's White Hart Lane career. But Villa will have to fork out £5m if they want to secure his services.
Robinson lost his place in the England side following the 2-1 defeat to Russia and subsequently struggled to hold down a place at club level due to a dip in form. The 28-year-old will be hoping that Martin O'Neill can to help him revive his club and international careers.
