Robinson hoping to resurrect his career at Blacburn
Paul Robinson is hoping to resurrect both his club and international career after signing for Blackburn Rovers from Spurs for £3.5m. The 28-year-old keeper has endured a terrible nine months, being dropped by England boss Steve McClaren and then losing his first team place at Spurs following the arrival of Juande Romos.
The ex-Leeds player is Paul Ince's first signing at Ewood Park and has promised to repay the new Blackburn manager's belief in him. With Brad Friedel having moved to Aston Villa Robinson will be ensured of his place in the Blackburn XI.
The Yorkshireman's took a dip in form in 2006 after the infamous Croatian bobble reaching its nadir when he was dropped for England's crucial European qualifier at Wembley. With the England goalkeeping cupboard looking bare it will be interesting to see if Robinson can get his confidence back and finally deliver on the promise he showed at Leeds.
