Robbie Keane hands in transfer request at Spurs
According to the Daily Mail Robbie Keane has told Spurs that he wants to leave. The Republic of Ireland international is reported to have handed in a transfer request after learning of Liverpool's player-plus-cash bid for him.
Keane supported Liverpool as a boy and is friends with both Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and vice-captain Jamie Carragher. But his decision to hand in a transfer demand will come as a shock to Spurs manager Juande Ramos.
At 28 the lure of Champions League football and linking up with Champion of Europe Fernando Torres at Anfield may be too much for Keane to turn down. The proposed move would see Peter Crouch moving in the opposite direction.
