Harry Redknapp has told reporters that Spurs would be interested in signing David Beckham if the LA Galaxy midfielder becomes available ahead of the World Cup in South Africa next year.
Beckham is currently on loan at Milan and will remain at the Serie A side until the end of the current season before heading back to play in the MLS with the Galaxy. But the former Manchester United midfielder will be looking to play in Europe again next winter to try and cement his place in the England squad for the World Cup.
Spurs are one of the possible clubs where the 33-year-old could play according to Redknapp's comments. "I have not thought about David Beckham, but it would be disrespectful of me to say I would not be interested in him, were he to become available," the Spurs boss said.
"David Beckham is a fantastic player, but he is also a terrific role model and a terrific professional. If the opportunity was there to sign him, any club would have to think about it," Harry continued. "He would still be a terrific player. His delivery of the ball remains exceptional, he is a great trainer and he is a local boy from up the road."
