Real Madrid: Robinho can join Chelsea for £32m

Brazilian playmaker, Robinho, has been told that he can leave Real Madrid for Chelsea provided that the London club pay a British record transfer fee of £32m. The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge ever since Luis Felipe Scolari took over at the Blues.

According to the Guardian, Chelsea chief executive, Peter Kenyon, travelled to Madrid earlier this week to continue negotiations over a possible deal for Robinho. But the Premier League club have had their second bid for the former Santos player turned down.

Robinho is reported to still be miffed over Real's very public and ultimately failed attempt to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in the summer. But do Chelsea really need another striker? Well Scolari seems to think and looks intent on increasing the Portuguese/Brazilian contingent at the Bridge.

In other news, it now looks as if Andriy Shevchenko will be remaining at Chelsea after Milan's offer to take the player back to the San Siro on loan was rejected. The Blues are looking to offload the Ukrainian after his disappointing two seasons in the Premier League.
