Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey has stated that he wants to join Arsenal from Cardiff City after rejecting overtures from Manchester United and Everton. The highly rated 17-year-old, considered one of the most promising talents in British football, will cost the London club £5m.
Ramsey visited United’s Carrington Park training complex last week but Alex Ferguson was not present. In contrast, Gunners boss Arsène Wenger flew Ramsey and his parents out to Switzerland for a face-to-face meeting which seems to have swayed the player's decision.
Cardiff City have since made a public statement that the Welshman wants a summer move to the Emirates. But the deals offered by both Manchester United and Everton included Ramsey being loaned back to Ninian park next season, something not offered by Arsenal and it could prove a sticking point in any potential deal.
