Radcliffe runs in NY marathon
Paula Radcliffe will run her first marathon since giving birth only eight months ago. That’s a competitive 26-mile+ run, just over 33 weeks since enduring the physical labour of childbirth… That’s not impressive, that’s incredible.
The 33-year-old will take part in the New York marathon on 4 November, having already taken second place in this year’s Great North Run.
It’s over two years since Radcliffe ran a marathon – in August 2005 when she won in Helsinki. Yet, as holder of the marathon world record (a woefully slow(!) 2:15:25) and winner of six of the seven marathons she has competed in, Ms Radcliffe is probably a good bet to win in the Big Apple. We’re having a flutter.
