Premiership week 2 round-up

The second week of Premiership matches saw Chelsea and Liverpool both pick up their second wins of the season while title hopefuls Arsenal went down 1-0 to London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage. It was a mixed weekend for the newly promoted sides with Stoke enjoying a famous 3-2 win over Aston Villa, Hull picking up a point against Blackburn and West Brom losing their second game in a row.

Steven Gerrard played Rafael Benitez's get out of jail free card, crashing home an injury time winner for Liverpool in a game that they would have been lucky to earn a draw. A William Gallas error helped Fulham tovictory over a toothless looking Arsenal while Chelsea needed a freekick from Deco to overcome a resilient Wigan side.

Sunderland best Spurs 2-1 at White Hart Lane heaping further pressure on Juande Ramos. Roy Keane's summer transfer dealings paid dividends with loan signing Djibril Cissé heading the winner.

Liverpool 2 Middlesbrough 1
