It was something of a mixed bag for the Premier League's title hopefuls this weekend. Chelsea were held to 1-1 draw with London rivals Tottenham at Stamford Bridge in a game which highlighted the defensive frailties of Luis Felipe Scolari's cavalier approach.
Brazilian right back Belletti gave the Blues the lead from a corner and they looked set for their third win on the trot. But a ricochet off Frank Lampard gave Darren Bent a simple chance to level the score and he made no mistake.
Arsenal put Newcastle to the sword at the Emirates with Robin van Persie bagging a brace in a 3-0 win. Elsewhere Shaun Wright Phillips enjoyed a happy return to the Manchester City starting eleven scoring twice during his side's 3-0 away win over Sunderland.
Elsewhere Liverpool's poor start to the season continued with a dour 0-0 draw away to Aston Villa. Worringly for the Reds Fernando Torres limped off with hamstring trouble. Poor old Hull were given a wake up call by Wigan who hammered the Tigers 5-0.
