Pietersen and Flintoff become richest cricketers in the world
Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff became the richest cricketers in the world after joining the Indian Premier League in record deals. The England stars were bought for £1.1m each to Bangalore Royal Challengers and the Chennai Super Kings respectively.
The two former England captains will be paid per match as they will miss the first half of the Twenty20 competition. But Pietersen and Flintoff are set to make £550,000 for three works of work.
Paul Collingwood and Owais Shah will also be heading to India to take part in the tournament before heading back to England at the start of May to prepare for the upcoming Test series.
