Perez: Madrid still want Ronaldo

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has again spoken about the club's intention to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu this summer.

The La Liga giants are reported to have all but secured the signature of Brazilian playmaker Kaka in a deal worth £56.2m and will then turn their attention towards C-Ron.

"What I want is for many of the best players in the world to play with us, Cristiano would be one of them," Perez said. "I'm going to work so that Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo can be with Real Madrid. It would be very good if great players were at Real Madrid this season. Cristiano would be one of them."

According to the Guardian, the newly elected president is said to have examined the pre-contract agreement between the Portugal winger and Real Madrid which could see 24-year-old leave Manchester United for a fee of £75m.

Hopefully the two parties can agree a deal sooner rather than later leaving the back-pages free for other news over the next few months.
