Champions League winners Real Madrid have secured the hottest property in world football after signing teen sensation Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian teenager has been in big demand by a host of top European clubs but it is the white of Los Blancos that Odegaard will don with immediate effect.

Odegaard holds the distinction of being the youngest player to ever have played for Norway after making his debut at only 15 years old against United Arab Emirates in August 2014. Madrid did not make public the financial details of the team but it has been reported that the Spanish champions paid Norwegian club Stromgodset €3 million to secure his services.

It has been reported that Odegaard will train with the first team at Madrid but for the coming months he will ply his trade playing for the B team. Known as Real Madrid Castilla, Odegaard will be looking to learn plenty from French legend Zinedine Zidane who coaches the team which competes in the Segunda División B.

Struggling to contain his excitement at the move, Odegaard said "It's a dream come true. It is a bit unreal that I'm here at the biggest club in the world. It's huge for me, an honour." On the matter of playing initially for Madrid's second string team for the short term, Odegaard emphasised why he joined Madrid saying "My goal is to become a better footballer. Playing for the first or second team is not so important."

News of this transfer being wrapped up will mean heartbreak for Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea as all three clubs were known to be pursuing Odegaard aggressively. Barcelona was known to also be keen on Odegaard but the club is currently banned from signing any new players after breaching FIFA rules.
