David Beckham is facing the prospect of no competitive football until April 2008, as LA Galaxy’s season came to an end at the weekend.

Former Manchester United trainee John Thorrington scored a late winner to put Chicago Fire into the coveted play-off spot. Unless Beckham can force his way into Steve McClaren’s squad for the friendly against Austria in November, he could be facing six months off. Unsurprisingly, LA Galaxy are refusing to let Beckham go on loan.

What on earth will David get up to during the long winter months? There are only so many trips to Chateau Marmont he can make with his big buddy Gordon Ramsay.

And how will he stay fit with all those celeb parties to go to? Golf, maybe?
