Cole and Terry to miss Belarus game22:17 Mon 13 October 2008 England will travel to Belarus without first choice defenders Ashley Cole and John Terry for Wednesday's World Cup qualifier in Minsk. Cole has a sore hamstring while England captain Terry has failed to recover from a recurring back problem. Wayne Bridge is likely to come in for Cole at left back, while either Wes Brown or Matthew Upson should replace Terry. Fabio Capello may also make a tactical switch for the Belarus game by playing without a holding midfielder. The most likely scenario would see Shaun Wright-Phillips coming in for Gareth Barry, as England revert to the 4-4-2 which served them well in the second half against Kazakhstan on Saturday. |
